King Tutz & The Queens of D'Nile

King Tutz featuring the Queens of D'Nile

welcome to tutz's newz column

Chezzy's getting spliced! Yep, Paul is the lucky man and we wish the pair of them all the best and a lifetime of marital bliss. Hats off to Chez and Paul!!!

We've been busy putting together a demo CD to lure promoters and publicans into booking us - it is available now so email us if you would like a copy. 'Leftover' tracks' may well end up on our website so please use our MP3 player on the zounds page to load and play them.

We'll be performing as both a 3 and 5 piece outfit from now on, so if your penchant is for sweet harmonies layered over an 'earthy' and relentless power rhythmsection, you'll be needing the KTs featuring the Queenz - if your bent is more towards classic 3 piece outfits such as Mountain, Cream, Robin Trower, The Jimi Hendrix Experience and soforth, you'd be advised to get yourself to a King Tutz gig... which ever way, we'd love to see you soon.

The KTs have a new drummer! Welcome to Rich, who joined us for our 'return from exile' gig at Manston's The Plough on the 3rd July. Welcome aboard me heartie!

Thanks to everyone that turned up at The Plough in Manston on Friday (24th) Cheers to Anne, Phil and Elodie for continuing to champion live music that is free to allcomers. We had a ball, that's for sure. Thanks to all Pete's workmates and bosses for showing up too. Not to forget, big John Crichard from Skinfull made the trip up from deepest Dorchester ... respect!
Also, our lovely Manston mob ladies - and Parson Brown from The Rectory attended too and was as attentive as ever to 'The Queenz'. "More tea and biccies my dears?"

If you ever get the chance to check out Bradford Abbas's Sports and Social Club, we can guarantee you will not be disappointed! With great facilities and reasonable bar prices, the venue is totally family-friendly - set in spectacular grounds, it's a little gem. We look forward to coming back some time in the future to lay a little more KT TLC on yer! Many thanks to Alan and his team for setting up a great night.

The Fund raising evening at Shaftesbury's Shaston Social Club bagged £62 or thereabouts - which is better than a slap round the ear with a bit of knicker elastic so thanks to those that stumped up the entrance fee and took a punt on the raffle. So that should cover a new set of tights for the Majorettes.

Syd returned to the drumstool for the recent performance at The Shaston Social Club. The old gout has cleared up sufficiently following some intensive TLC from Carol, antibiotics and a sexy leg stocking which we understand will now be a permanent feature in Syd's wardrobe.

So, a huge thank you from the band for our surrogate drummer, John, who has been fantastic in helping us through the last couple of gigs. He seamlessly joined the Tutz' engine room and using his electronic kit, saw us through two of the 'quieter venues' we're likely to play any time soon! Thanks John! If you get a chance to see John's band 'Skinful' please do. You won't be disappointed if you like rock classics played by committed and talented musicians.

The all-day Sunday fund raising bash at The Whitepost, Rimpton, was a great success. Benefactors will be The Air Ambulance and Fiveways School - details will be published here once the final tally is done.

Mucho grub and booze was consumed and generous donations made to the girls with the buckets (£ a strip - money well spent, we thought!). A big TUTZ THANKS goes out to Colleen and Graham who staged the event and gave up their usual Sunday lunch business for these worthy causes. See you all back there soon we hope.
